"Noida Traffic Police and Gramin Vikas Utthan Samiti jointly launched a campaign through the thoughtful gesture of offering red roses to law-abiding commuters at the Sector 60 crossing," said SP (Traffic), RN Mishra.
"We also offered helmets free of cost to those riders who were not wearing helmets. A number of motorists were also challaned for not wearing helmets," he added.
"The campaign was launched by SSP Preetinder Singh with the objective of enhancing road safety and awareness about the same among the public. Many local dignitaries took part in the campaign," he said.
Mishra added that a "total of 759 vehicles were challaned on Friday and a fine of Rs 3,01,100 collected, which is the highest for a single day during the drive".
