Dell Launches Venue Range Of Tablets

After focusing on enterprise tablets last year, Dell has introduced its Venue range of tablets targeted at consumers and business users. The company introduced Venue 7 and Venue 8 with Android OS and Windows 8.1 based Venue 8 Pro and Venue 11 Pro.

Venue 7 and Venue 8 tablets are powered by Intel Atom processor and offers 2GB RAM and 16 GB/32 GB internal memory. The Android-based Venue tablets come preloaded with PocketCloud which allows users to search, edit and share data from any device, anywhere. The company is offering 1-year carry-in warranty for Venue 7 priced at Rs 10,999 and accidental damage service on the Venue 8 priced at Rs 17,499.

The Venue 8 Pro, priced at Rs 26,499, is powered by Intel Atom quad core processor with 2GB RAM and 32 GB storage. It offers security with pre-loaded firmware TPM and Dell data protection and encryption security tools.

The Venue 11 Pro offers 10.8-inch full HD IPS display and PC-grade performance with 4th generation Intel Core i3 and i5 processors. Price of the Venue 11 Pro has not been announced yet.

Both Venue 8 Pro and 11 Pro will be available February 2014 onwards and be supported by advanced exchange warranty and accidental damage protection.

Commenting on the rapid proliferation of tablets, Debjani Ghosh, Managing Director, Sales and Marketing Group, Intel South Asia, said, “Tablets are not anymore a tool for networking and entertainment but has now become a tool for productivity and collaboration.
