NIA announces cash reward for information on absconders in Burdwan blast case

A cash reward of ten lakh rupees each against five absconders, five lakh rupees each for three accused and three lakh rupees for the remaining four suspects has been announced by the NIA.

All of them are alleged to be associated with banned terror outfit Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB). They were reportedly conspiring to target installations in Bangladesh.

The NIA has sought general public's co-operation to apprehending them. Anyone can inform either on phone or on e-mail about their location and movement.
It said the identity of the informers shall be kept secret.


A bomb explosion took place inside a house in West Bengal's Birbhum district Wednesday, seriously injuring three people. Police came to know about the incident after the hospital authorities informed them about the injured.

"We have detained three people, including a woman, who carried the three injured to the hospital. The condition of the all the three is critical.” informed a senior police official.

“In the preliminary investigation it appears they were injured while making bombs," a police officer said.

Since the October 2 explosion in Khagragarh in Burdwan district in which two suspected Bangladeshi militants were killed, there have been several incidents of crude bombs going off or being seized by police from several districts of the state.
