Motorola Mobility which will be acquired by Chinese major smartphone, tablet and PC maker Lenovo has launched Motorola Moto G smartphone in India in 8GB and 16GB variants with an exclusive pact with e-commerce retailer flipkart.
The device has price tag of 12,499 and Rs. 13,999 for 8GB and 16GB variants respectively.
Magnus Ahlqvist, general manager for EMEA and Asia Pacific markets in a joint statement said admitted that online marketing is a strong way to re-enter the Indian market.
He said that the company wants to bring real quality experience to consumers and that's one of the reasons we've tied up with flipkart.com".
Motorola launched the Moto G in November globally with 4.5-inch HD 'edge-to-edge' display with a resolution of 720x1280 pixels (translating to a pixel density of 329ppi) and is powered by a quad-core 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 (Cortex-A7) processor.
It runs on Android 4.3; upgradeable to Android 4.4 (KitKat).
It comes with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 screen. The Moto G has a 2070mAh battery, which Motorola claims can deliver up to 30 percent more talktime than the Apple iPhone 5s.
The Moto G comes with 1GB of RAM. On the optics front. It sports a 5-megapixel rear camera along with an LED flash and also includes a 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera. The rear camera supports HD (720p) video recording.
The Motorola Moto G comes with water-resistant nano-coating on inside and outside.
