"The state will develop in the true sense of the word only when the
rural areas join the development mainstream," Rawat said while
interacting with villagers yesterday during his visit to Namik, first
ever by any chief minister of the state, an official release said.
Rawat listened to the problems of the residents and made them aware of several state government projects from which they could benefit immensely, it said.
The village will soon be brought into connectivity network and proper healthcare and educational facilities will be developed there.
Rawat assured the villagers of giving a boost to tourism related activities to generate employment opportunities in the village, the release said.
He spoke of launching mini hydel projects in the area to fulfill its power requirements and instructed Pithoragarh District Magistrate to take it up with the BSNL to set up a communication tower in the village.
The CM also directed the DMs of Pithoragarh and Bageshwar districts to provide financial help to the cultural groups operating in their jurisdiction and prepare an elaborate plan for the beautification of temples in the area.
