Indore: Tata Consultancy Services to start construction by month end

Campus will be developed in two phases on a total area of around 15 lakh sq ft.

Information technology major Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) is going to start the construction of its campus by the end of January.

The entire campus will be developed in two phases with a total development area of around 15 lakh sq ft. Construction on 10 lakh sq ft will be carried out in the first phase by June 2016 while the second phase of constructing 5 lakh sq ft area of this campus will take next two years time i.e. by the end of 2018.

“The company has appraised us about its planning to start the construction of the campus by the end of January” said IDA land acquisition officer, Pratul Sinha.

TCS officials had recently revealed that the company will initially invest Rs 550 crore to build the first phase of an integrated campus for technology and business process outsourcing (BPO) services.

The campus will incorporate several green building concepts such as zero discharge, energy efficient systems, rain water harvesting systems and integrated building management systems.
Representatives of TCS had given presentation on its planning of the campus in a meeting led by divisional commissioner Sanjay Dubey on November 1, 2013.

The company has a planning to generate 10,000 jobs including 7,000 in IT sector and 3,000 in BPO sector once the campus will be started functioning in 2016.

TCS will generate 5000 jobs after completing the second phase of 5 lakh square ft construction here.

The state government has provided 130 acre land to Infosys while 100 acre land was given to TCS for establishing IT centres with a promise of creating 13,000 and 10,000 jobs here by both the companies, respectively.

“Both the companies were allotted the lands at the rate of Rs 20 lakh per acre with a condition to provide employment to 100 engineers per acre and will also give 50 per cent jobs to domiciles of Madhya Pradesh.” said Sinha.  Read more..
