Maha polls: BJP to begin massive election campaign today, ready to hold 300 rallies in two days

Mumbai: After calling off a 25-year-old alliance with Shiv Sena, the BJP is set to launch a two-day massive campaign in the state on Monday in a bid to woo a large number of voters for the upcoming Maharashtra Assembly polls.

According to the party, the campaign named 'Mulukh Maidan' will cover all 288 constituencies under which 300 rallies will be addressed.

"These rallies will literally comb every Assembly constituency and will reach out to maximum voters," a BJP spokesperson said.

Some of the leaders who will hold these rallies are Union Agriculture Minister Radha Mohan Singh in South Maharashtra, BJP National Vice President Purushottam Rupala in Satara and Sangali, and Union HRD Minister Smriti Irani in Pune.

Former MP and cricketer Navjyot Singh Siddhu will address a rally in Mumbai, BJP National Secretary Muralidhar Rao in Latur and Solapur, National Vice President Vinay Sahastrabuddhe in Thane, Union Minister for Environment and Forests Prakash Javadekar in Nashik.

Delhi BJP leader Vijendra Gupta, Union Ministers Uma Bharati, Kailash Mishra and Santosh Ganagawar will also address some rallies during the campaign.

President of the state BJP unit Devendra Fadnavis, Leader of opposition in the Legislative Assembly Eknath Khadse, Leader of Opposition in Legislative Council Vinod Tawde, and former state president of the BJP Pandurang Phundkar too will hold several rallies on Monday and Tuesday.

"BJP has planned many unique and effective ways to reach out to people and 'Mulukh Maidan' is one such attempt. During this campaign, many such initiatives will be taken up by the party to communicate its plans of political transformation to voters. BJP party workers are all geared up to make 'Mulukh Maidan' a roaring success," the spokesperson said.
